Corey Barr joined the BFP in April of 2007. She is currently a student at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Corey is also a former community anchor with Amnesty’s International Justice and Accountability program. Her main interests include genocide and crimes against humanity, statistics for human rights, and accountability. Corey joined the BFP to meet other
passionate human rights advocates and to engage her human rights interests.

Amber Camio joined the BFP in August 2007 to become more actively involved in human rights advocacy and to connect with like-minded individuals of a similar age group. Most recently, she coordinator an action for Darfur as par of Get on the Bus, a trip to New York City for a day of human rights action and education organized by Amnesty International Group 133. Amber is currently a first year law student at Boston University. Alum

Robin Chan became aware of human rights issues and the role of international organizations like the WTO, IMF, and the World Bank after a two week immersion trip in Mexico while a student at Boston College. His international experience also includes teaching English as a foreign language at a university in China following graduation. Specific topics that he hopes to tackle would be trafficking and the role of farm subsidies for bio-fuels and its impact on greenhouse gases and world poverty. He is currently a photojournalist for weekly newspapers in the South Shore. His interests include photography, movies/ documentaries, sports (both watching and playing), politics/ world affairs, and constantly learning.

Sarah Coughtry is the Coordinator of Outpatient Programs & Outreach at Walden Behavioral Care in Waltham, where she works to raise awareness and help people suffering from eating disorders.  She has a strong passion for the mental health field, and joined the Boston Firefly Project as a way to branch into the more global perspective of human rights and mental health.  She recently started volunteering at the Irish Immigration Center in Boston, and Sarah hopes to start her Masters in Social Work next year. On the side she is an avid amateur photographer, specifically black & white documentary. Jennifer Foth joined the Boston Firefly Project at the beginning of 2009 after graduating from Middlebury College in May 2008, where she majored in International Studies with a focus in Political Science. Jen joined the BFP in order to continue and expand upon the activist work she did in college with groups such as Amnesty International, Habitat for Humanity and STAND (Students Take Action Now - Darfur). Her human rights interests include genocide, women and children's rights, and refugee issues. Jen currently works at ACCION International, a microfinance non-profit in Charlestown. Outside of work, she enjoys running, yoga, skiing, outdoor activities, photography, travel/cultural exploration, and learning something new every day.

Carolyn Han graduated from Boston College in May of 2008 where she majored in English, History, and Philosophy. It was there that she continued her interest in women's rights with the organization, Women's Health Initiative and Equality Now, and studies in third world views and alternative globalizations. She joined the Boston Firefly Project in early 2009 where she hopes she can continue her interest in issues afflicting humanity. Carolyn's other human rights interests include human trafficking, children's issues, and poverty.

Rebecca Martin is Communications Coordinator for the BFP.  She is a librarian at 
Boston University and her human rights interests lay in media reform and justice, housing rights, women’s rights and activists capacity building among others. Her avocational interests change almost daily, but those sustained over the past few months are her interests in George Orwell, craft beers and the “Slow Food” movement.

Audrey Robert Ramirez is a full-time graduate student studying law and public health at Northeastern and Tufts. Her ultimate pursuit is to work with the immigrant population, on issues surrounding their legal status, access to health, well-being, and family reunification. She joined the group over the summer of 2008 seeking to learn more and share my passion on human rights issues. Alum

Vivien Roman is an International Justice Anchor and Asst. Coordinator for the BFP. Her human rights interests include international justice, environmental degradation and its impact on the poor and corporate accountability to name a few. Vivien’s hobbies include rock climbing, roller derby, arts and never sitting still.

Bonnie Rubrecht became interested in human rights in college as an international political science major. She has been part of the BFP since summer 2007. Bonnie lives in Cambridge, works for Harvard Law School and is currently studying French and immigration/refugee policy.

Julie Staadecker joined the Boston Firefly Project in the winter of 2009. She graduated from Boston University in May 2007 and got involved with BFP to become more involved with human rights advocacy. Julie’s main interests include refugee, human trafficking and genocide. She works in a Public Relations agency in Boston and hopes to use her communication skills to inform the public and them engaged in battling crimes against humanity.

Amy Tan joined the BFP in the summer of 2009. She graduated from Brown University in May ’09 in International Relations in the Politics, Culture, and Identity track and is now working as a paralegal. While at Brown, she was involved with her college AI chapter as a member and as president. In the summer of 2008, Amy interned with the amazing Counter Terror with Justice team in Washington, DC . Amy is interested in the relationship between human rights, law, and identity; human rights and the war on terror; human trafficking; and genocide. In her free time she enjoys reading Ian McEwan novels and exploring Boston. She also speaks Dutch and passable Spanish.


Jenn Walker is the founder and coordinator of the Boston Firefly Project. She became involved with Amnesty International as a student at Simmons College. After college, she began the BFP as a way to help other young activists continue their work after college. She is particularly interested in program evaluation, activist training and development, and coalition building. Currently, she works full time at Lesley University and is also in the Applied Sociology master degree program at UMass Boston. In her free time, she loves reading about management strategy, listening to pop music and cooking and eating locally grown food.
