About the Boston Firefly Project
___________________________

The BFP is a group of young professionals who are passionate about educating their peers about global human rights issues and providing opportunities to take action. The group began in 2005 as a way for recent college graduates to continue their activism. Many of our volunteers were in high school or college Amnesty chapters, but some of them are brand new to activism and organizing. If you would like more information on Amnesty International USA and the human rights issues that we work on, click here and here.

We meet monthly, on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, at 7:00pm. We use this meeting time to plan future events, share updates on human rights issues, and engage in letter writing actions. The group is open to anyone who identifies as a young professional and is interested in getting involved in human rights education and activism.

We have five working groups: Women/Gender/Sexuality, Refugee/Immigration, Human Trafficking, International Justice, and Activist Training and Development. These groups meet regularly to organize events, trainings and fundraisers and also contribute to our blog and newsletter

We love to hear from potential new members, other organizations, artists and members of the media. Take a look through our website, but please don’t hesitate to be in touch with us via email with any other questions.
